After two weeks on Midway, we are definitely more in tune with everything going on here. Today, a big crew went to Eastern Island to remove sedges from one of the freshwater wetlands to give the ducks more room (they are small ponds) and to possibly help with the botulism problem here. It was hard labor, but very satisfying, since we got it completed. After that, a jump off the pier to cool down in the ocean, and it's the start of our holiday weekend (sort of - where would you want to go for a holiday when you're in a beautiful spot like this?). Here is a picture I don't think we posted yet, from a week ago of Louis getting his hair cut by Sitthisak at the Midway Barber Shop. The shop is typically open for a few hours per week. Tonight we are getting a light rain on and off. We're going to watch a movie for a change.
