Time for a journey to some things we haven't shared yet . . .

This is a tree I like. I don't know what it is, the important part is that I like it.

Here it is up close and there just happens to be two Terns there as well!

This is the "Midway Mall". Of course, there's shopping here! What did you think? The door to the right is the store. It is open from 6:00 - 6:30 p.m. every evening except Sundays. You can get sodas, beer and other alcohol, some snacks, shampoo, etc. You can also rent
DVDs there.
The door to the left is the . . .

Library! yeah!

I love the library. It is very sweet. There are
a lot of books (have I mentioned that I have read 5 books since
I've been here?). The air conditioning is just right in here, and the chairs are very comfortable!
History time;

This is what was known as Command Central during the war. This was where the radio operations took place. On December 7, 1941, an early morning signal came from Oahu. All hands on duty thought the officer was joking when he announced the attack on Pearl Harbor.
This building was supposedly a bomb proof building. Well, upstairs in the 'radio room' a Marine by the name of 1st LT George H. Cannon was working when a bomb went in through the window and killed some of his men, badly injuring Cannon himself. Brave 1st LT Cannon refused to be moved or treated until everything was back up and running. Eventually, he was moved and shortly thereafter died. Cannon was the first Marine of WWII to be awarded the Medal of Honor. (yes, there will be a quiz later!)
And,

Another Albino Albatross! This one is on Sand Island.
Greg/Pam/Louis - this island is full of surprises!
