Saturday July 11

We spent all day Saturday smoking fish and meat! We used coconut husks as the wood.

Louis breaks apart the coconuts.

Greg checks out the home-made smoker.

We marinated the fish overnight and then put it all on this tray.

Tray of fish, ready for the smoker.

The fish goes in.

Pam and Miller.

Miller (the maker of the smoker) bangs the end on the smoker.

We also smoked a brisket and a pork tenderloin.

And we had a huge tray of sashimi!

A table full of Yum!

It was a group birthday party at the All Hands Club!

Louis and Pong play shuffleboard with Jessica.

Pam and Dana.

Pam gets in on a game of ping pong.

And, of course, no party would be complete with out the Chugach Band!! I'm hoping this is a clip from "Country Roads" - sorry the visual part isn't so good, but i hope you can hear it. (Susi, this one's for you!!)

This bird thinks it can drive!!

  1. Yo Greg/Pam/Louis -

I am truly impressed with the smoker. Greg, take some good notes & pixs. Upon your return to the mainland, let think about building one from scratch! - ttk PS>> I am envious that you guys are scarfing some great sashimi!!!

  2. What a great party....wish we could have been there. I'll bet everyone enjoyed the taste of the meat done on the smoker.
We look forward to John & Leona's visit to Iowa at the end of the month...sweet corn is in season!
