Monday morning, Louis and I joined Greg and John (biologist) on a trip out to Eastern island to look for sick and dead Laysan Ducks.
Eastern Island had even more birds than Sand island! There were Albatross all over the place snapping at us as we walk past. There were also Tern nests all over the old runway. Not really much of nests, just an egg plopped here and there. Louis and I joked that it should be called Easter Island for all the eggs you could find.
There were alot of birds flying overhead as well. Reminded me of that old Alfred Hithcock movie!!
We found some old, empty Albatross eggs as well. They were huge! We also some other birds and remnants from War times.
