First Impressions

There are birds EVERYWHERE! We have done so much and it's only been one day!
After breakfast, we started the day with an orientation. Learned a bit about the history of the Atoll, some information on the various species that live here and the rules of living here.

Afterwards, we went to the bike garage and picked out our bikes, very cool!

Then, Louis and I took off with Doc to the Harbor Wall while Greg got settled in his new office. While at the Harbor Wall, we saw a HUGE, at least 10 ft Tiger shark. and at least 4 turtles.

This afternoon, we went snorkeling under the Cargo Pier. It was truly amazing. we will take pictures there tomorrow. Again, we saw several turtles as well as, many different fishes.

While Louis was walking on the beach here, he found a note in a bottle. It was from a third grader in Long Beach, CA dated May 25, 1999! Very exciting!

This evening, there is a big bowling tournament. We will be spectators as we are exhausted!

More tomorrow.
